Environmentally-friendly short-chain perfluoropolyether polyacrylates emulsion films for high water barrier coating applications

چکیده

Water-based protective coatings have gained wide popularity because of their low toxicity and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions. However, improving water barrier performance is a significant challenge. An environmentally friendly short-chain perfluoropolyether carboxylic acid (PFPE-MMA) material has been synthesized in this study, series PFPE-based polyacrylates were prepared using RAFT miniemulsion copolymerization. The impact PFPE chains crystalline stearyl methacrylate (SMA) on the wettability copolymer latex films use studied. Based surface bulk morphology films, addition SMA to promoted migrate toward air/film interface, leading exceptional resistance through matrix, resulting remarkable properties. After 192 h, absorption ratio 25% PFPE-7% film was 3.98%, while that 6.03%. Not only are excellent materials with potential applications, but they also an effective preparation strategy for high property waterborne coatings. • Environmental-friendly via polymerization. octadecyl into synergistic effect which distinctly improved properties proposed.
